Toowoomba Junior Rugby League is set to establish a 5-week Under 12 Girls Rugby League competition this season.

Girls Coordinator Jackie Stephson says momentum is building with numerous clubs planning team in the coming weeks.

Stephson looks forward to seeing more girls on our fields this season.

“As far as Toowoomba Junior Rugby League is concerned we are starting a 5-week Under 12 Girls Rugby League competition this year to commence a long term aim for Junior Girls Rugby League to be able to be played in the TJRL local competition.”

The introduction of this 5-week competition is another chance for females and the whole family to get involved in Rugby League.

She also sees it as a way to grow the game and support for teams in the competition.

“It can only get bigger and better and it will keep people coming back after watching,” she said.

The 5-week Under 12 Girls Rugby League competition will cater for girls born 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Dates:  9th, 16th and 23rd March and 20th and 27th April.

Venue:  Valleys RLFC, Pillar St, Toowoomba.

Age groups:  Girls born 2006, 2007 and 2008 (turning 10, 11 and 12 this year).
